Introduction:
Polyglyceryl-2 Oleate (CAS 49553-76-6, also known as diglyceryl monooleate) is a lipophilic nonionic surfactant with the molecular formula C??H??O? and a molecular weight of 430.62, manufactured by esterification of plant-derived polyglycerol-2 and oleic acid.

It features high safety, low irritation, and good biodegradability, appearing as a colorless to pale yellow viscous oily liquid, soluble in organic solvents and oils, insoluble in water but dispersible in water, with an HLB value of approximately 3–5.5, functioning as an emulsifier, stabilizer, dispersant, and skin-conditioning agent.

Application:
In cosmetics and personal care, it is widely used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in W/O emulsions, creams, lotions, foundations, BB creams, lipsticks, and hair care products to stabilize oil-water systems, improve spreadability, and enhance skin feel.

It also acts as a mild emollient suitable for sensitive skin and natural/organic cosmetic formulations, and serves as a dispersing agent in oral care products such as toothpaste and mouthwash.

In the food industry, it is used as a W/O type emulsifier in margarine, ice cream, chocolate, cocoa products, and sauces to improve fluidity, prevent stratification, and enhance stability, being approved for use in food formulations due to its high safety profile.
