Introduction:

Pentaerythritol tetrakis(3-mercaptopropionate), with CAS number 7575-23-7, is a multifunctional thiol organic compound appearing as colorless viscous oily liquid under normal ambient temperature. It features four reactive sulfhydryl groups in its molecular structure, delivering excellent reactivity toward unsaturated double bonds under ultraviolet irradiation or catalytic conditions. The product is produced via esterification reaction between pentaerythritol and 3-mercaptopropionic acid, available in industrial grade with purity above 94% and high-purity grade over 99%, showing good compatibility with most acrylic resins, polyester and various organic solvents while staying insoluble in water.

Application:

This multi-thiol product is primarily applied as key crosslinking curing agent for UV curable coatings, printing inks and pressure-sensitive adhesives to accelerate rapid photocuring and enhance the flexibility and adhesive strength of cured films. Besides, it acts as an essential organic intermediate for synthesizing optical transparent resins, modified polymer materials and antioxidant additives, and is also widely used in the preparation of epoxy curing agents and rubber modifier additives in fine chemical industry.
