Introduction:

Boron oxide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula of B2O3, also known as boron trioxide, which is the main oxide of boron. It is a white waxy solid, which generally exists in an amorphous state. It is difficult to form crystals, but it can also crystallize after high-strength annealing. It is one of the most difficult substances known to crystallize. During melting, many basic metal oxides can be dissolved to form glassy borate and metaborate (glass) with characteristic color, which are used to prepare elemental boron and fine boron compounds. It can also be combined with various oxides to make borosilicate glass, optical glass, heat-resistant glass, instrument glass, glass fiber, light protection materials, etc. with characteristic colors. It can also be used as fire-resistant alkene inhibitor and desiccant for paint.

Application:
1.Determination of silica and alkali in silicate analysis, blowpipe analysis, and flux for decomposition of silicate.
2. It is used as a flux during silicate decomposition, a dopant for semiconductor materials, a fire-resistant additive for heat-resistant glassware and paints. It is a raw material for the preparation of elemental boron and various boron compounds.
3. It is used in the metallurgical industry for the production of alloy steel.
4. It can be used as a catalyst for organic synthesis, additives for lubricants for high temperature and chemical reagents.
5. Used as analytical reagent, such as flux for decomposing samples, for the preparation of boron. It is also used as a doping source for semiconductor silicon. High-purity reagents for epitaxial and diffusion processes in semiconductor production.
